Luckyiam – Supreme ft. Claire Mortifee

From all of us here at the Mash Up to you, our valued readers, Happy (Belated) Valentine’s Day! In honor of Cupid’s aim-and-shoot holiday, we wanted to show some love in one of the only ways we know how: Sharing dope music.

On that note, here’s a little Valentine’s Day treat called “Supreme” from one of the OG Mystik Journeymen himself Luckiam, who also helped co-found the cornerstone West Coast hip-hop group Living Legends.

Featuring Claire Mortifee on the chorus – who sounds uncannily like a Motown singer of the ’60s, and whose lyrics I even looked up on WhoSampled.com before realizing they were original – and production by fellow Legends member Eligh, Luck spits over a soul-ridden piano beat that Ghostface would be proud to go over.

He tells us how he’s moved on from the short-lived groupie love he used to enjoy and just how fundamental it is to find that one true soul mate both he, and eventually everyone else, needs in their life.

Keep Valentine’s Day going by downloading Lucky’s “Supreme” and throwing it in the roto of your playlist. Spin a record, spread the love. That’s what it’s all about.
