Chevy Woods x “The 48 Hunnid Project” (Video + Link)

Last night in San Francisco, Pittsburgh native, Chevy Woods welcomed fans and San Francisanites to the likes of his “The 48 Hunnid Project” listening party inside fellow label mate, Berner’s, Cookies flagship location. It was mad live, filled to the wall with hip hop heads sharing their daps and snaps cheering on his continued music journey.

With the album dropping on August 7th, we are given a deeper view into the past life of Woods. He states that this project, which took him just about two years to write, compile and master, delves back to the past to share his stories of violent inner city living with all its grit and rawness. I do wish more rappers these days would talk about intimate stories of their past lives versus all the gold, bottles and bitches they got now, it honestly gets rather boring.

While Chevy Woods’ plethora of mixtape goodness dating back to 2008 with “The Corner’s Correspondent”, 2009 “Animal”, 2011 “Red Cup Music” and “The Cookout” to his famed and well welcomed by media source XXL for his “Gangland” Series Mixtapes we have seen a growth in Chevy but never taking away from the heart of his youth, experience and street knowledge.

Leaving Heavy Hustle Records in 2010 to sign with Wiz Khalifa’s label, Taylor Gang, officially, became a huge stepping stone for this rapper. After meeting Wiz in 2004, vibing out inside the lab of producer I.D. Labs, they formed the group “Taylor Gang” and thus began their journey, but it wasn’t until 2010 did he officially become an artist under Wiz.
