Pour Me Another For Atmosphere!

Minneapolis hip-hop duo Atmosphere was something else in Sacramento! Rapper Slug (Sean Daley) and DJ/producer Ant (Anthony Davis) had a phenomenal performance at Ace of Spades.

Before doors even opened for the show on Friday, Atmosphere walked to the fans in line to talk to them and get them excited. It was a very humble moment for rapper slug. The stage was set and fans were excited for the sold out show. DJ Ant was on stage getting the fans ready with a giant screen below his DJ set.

Fans went crazy when Slug walked on stage. Slug started off with “Jerome” and “Stopwatch” from his latest album Mi Vida Local. Fans went crazy when Slug gave shout outs to the fans and had great set ups for his songs. Before playing his classic “God Loves Ugly,” he called the fans at Ace of Spades hard to look at. It was clever because fans didn’t understand until he said y’all are ugly!

Slug was hilarious through out the show. “Y’all are so old, but that’s okay, we old as f**k too,” Slug said to the crowd.

For the most part, that was the case for attendees as Slug (46) and Ant (48) have gathered fans that have been along for their entire careers. Age didn’t slow the duo down as they played for nearly two hours and had the audience enthralled the entire time. Throughout the show, Atmosphere performed many hits including “Sunshine” and “Yesterday.” He ended the night with fan favorite “Trying to Find a Balance.”

It was a great vibe at Ace of Spades and we’ll be ready when he returns.
