Sol Blume 2019 Was On Point!

It was an amazing experience at Sol Blume 2019 in Sacramento, CA! Miguel and Jessie Reyez headlined the festival. Let’s recap the show.

Inside Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sol Blume was packed with excited and passionate fans. Throughout the day, the artists could be found mingling amongst the crowd. The Sacramento community was in full support with all the Sol Blume artists. There were two stages at the festival, and fans went back and forth to see the performers. There were many food trucks, decorations, fountains, and plenty of drinks. The atmosphere was not like Cochella, but was very impressive in the park.

On one stage, fans watched Washington’s Dave B join North Carolina’s Ivy Sole, immediately followed by a guest appearance by Romero Franceswa for a hyped up performance during Dave B’s set on the next stage. It was fun to watch the collaboration with the artists. As Sol Blume continued on, the crowd was getting larger. Sweden’s Snoh Aalegra elegantly came out to her hit song “Nothing Burns Like the Cold,” before taking on an incredible performance of Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do for Love.” After, Dreamville’s first lady, Ari Lennox, would bring her “Shea Butter Baby” vibe to Sol Blume with an amazing live band to match.

After, Philadelphia’s Tierra Whack wowed the fans with an energetic set that matched her creative visual album, ‘Whack World.’ Masego brought impromptu soul to the Blume Stage as he opened with his phenomenal smash “Tadow.” J.I.D. did his thang on the stage, and it was fun to watch Jessie Reyez and Miguel cheer on J.I.D. When Reyez came on stage, she wore a black hoodie with a hat. She was very passionate on stage and opened up about harassment in the music industry. During the performance Jesse let a fan take a picture with her and getting close to the fans. She thanked everyone for coming out and got them ready for Miguel.

When Miguel was on stage, there were thousands of fans at the park. It was so packed that some fans were climbing trees to get a better look at the main stage. Before Miguel appeared, there was fog machine that created a haze to make it hard to see the stage. It was a creative way of the entrance for Miguel. When he came up, fans went crazy. Miguel played a lot of his hits including “Adorn” and “Sure Thing.” In the middle of the show, Miguel pulled out his guitar and jammed out.

The energy was amazing and we can’t wait for Sol Blume 2020.
