If you haven’t caught a Bambu show at Sol Collective you are definitely missing out. In my opinion he has one of the best mixtures of insightful, real messages without being “preachy” and still being able to have fun with the music. His latest project is no exception, “The Lean Sessions” completely produced by high-schooler Karman. Listen, download, and enjoy!
Miss Special catches up with TASK1ne to talk about touring, his upcoming project with Dibia$e, the MAD1NE project, making a song for his cats, and more.
Abstract Ninjaa releases his track “Another Story” over another DOOM beat. This is the first video from his upcoming project “Ninjaalic Flower” set to release this year. As he said on Facebook, watch the video as if the camera is his daughter.
You may recognize this voice from DLRN, but under the name Nami Ramo, she is currently working on a solo project. She recently released these two sonic and chill tracks (Produced by REL & Ru) that will hopefully be on it. In addition she lent her voice to Ru’s latest EP “Rollr Coastr” and the result is not only the track “Pragma”, but the video below of them behind the scenes at Soundcap Audio too.
Wrey teams up with CaliGraphi Multimedia for his latest single “UNXPCTD”. I’m diggin’ it, it’s definitely a care-free feel good jam.
The old school of hip hop activism meets the new. Public Enemy and Brother Ali come together on this track off P.E.’s first new album since 2005, Evil Vs. Heroes. Unrelated, Brother Ali performed and presented with Omar Offendum earlier this week at this year’s Nobel Peace Prize Forum. Big things from big names in conscious hip hop. Check out the video and take a listen to both Evil Vs. Heroes and Brother Ali’s latest, Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color.
If you missed her release party at Sol Collective on 2/28, you def missed out! Ruby Ibarra drops the latest visuals off her recent mixtape “Lost In Translation”. (Download it here.) In this amazing video she tells stories of troubled women, a must see for not only women, but men as well! In addition, she also recently dropped the acoustic version of this song which is not only gorgeous but a great vibe too. You can watch that here.
Pac Div keeps it pretty hard in their latest video for “Savages” which doubles as LRG’s 2013 Spring lookbook. This track is of course of their latest album “GMB” which you can buy on itunes now. A must listen for the West Coast music lover. Also don’t miss Pac Div when they come to Sacramento’s Sol Collective on April 21st with Johnny Polygon.
Any true west coast underground hip hop fan can tell you that it is ALWAYS a good time when Equipto comes to town. Whether with Andre Nickatina, the Bored Stiff crew, or any of the countless names he’s worked with throughout the years.
After a decade and a half of making some of the most infamous Bay Area hip hop, Equipto is calling it quits after he wraps his latest tour, coming to Sacramento next Thursday night, March 14th at the Blue Lamp. If you have never seen him live, this performance promises to be one of the most intense that a crowd has ever seen from the SF legend as Equipto makes his exit from the rap world and says goodbye to the Sac stage for the last time. You don’t want to miss this one. Trust us.
