Del X Bukue One: Save B Street

On Saturday September 26th I witnessed something which reassured me that the strength of music and the skateboarding culture are still strong as can be. Despite the 103 temperature people of all ages gathered at the B Street skate park in efforts to help save the skate park which is in jeopardy of closure due to budget cuts. Themashup.net put together a concert featuring local artists Verbalistic and Chase Moore as well as Del tha funkyhomosapian and Bukue One. For a small donation of $5 people of all ages were able to enjoy the artists perform.

Throughout the show Bukue One picked winning raffle tickets and distributed prizes to the crowd. The prizes ranged from i360 Beanies, to Skull Candy t-shirts and headphones, as well as Plan B skateboards. Bukue spent time before the show skating with the locals and signing autographs alongside Del. From beginning to end the performances’ were high energy giving everyone a great sense of unity.

The grueling Sacramento heat was no match for Bukue and Del who not only delivered an amazing show, but stuck around afterwards to sign more autographs and talk with local fans. This show was a great example of how much potential Sacramento has to be a huge mash up of talent, I can only hope that even more of us start taking advantage of these great opportunities’ we are being given.
