Burnz f/Willy Northpole “Crime”
As Hip-Hop shifts into its next era and as current acts struggle to pacify veteran fans and the next generation, Burnz bridges the difference. Burnz vision extends past trying to create a catchy radio single as he pulls his inspiration from a wide variety of artists; including Redman, DMX, Nas, John Coltrane and Billie Holliday.
Displaying an honest, skillful and eager rap method, Burnz is an 80′s baby who was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ and he is ready to unleash his debut, Talent 2 Burn, but before he does, he’ll first release a prequel Talent 2 Burn: The Prequel which features guest appearances from Cashis, Crooked I and Willy Northpole.
Burnz has already been featured at esteemed outlets such as Ozone Magazine, 2Dopeboyz.com, Hiphopdx.com and Yoraps.com (among others).
Talent 2 Burn: The Prequel will be available for free Download on 9-21-2010

Critique of the Burnz song “Crime” ft. Willy Northpole
THE BEAT:
So the beat starts good and catches my attention at first. After listening closely, I find the beat to be consistently strong, but is not a new sound or and is akin to A- / B+ that I have heard before.
LYRICIST #1:
The lyricist #1 comes on and brings little new to the rap game. The rapper talks about himself and uses a metaphore to elaborate (i.e. mentioning his “pure coca lyrics”). So while I am barely hanging on listening to this decent beat with a less decent rapper homeboy spits
“Niggas say I’m say I’m cocky but //
If you ain’t deep into the chapter //
You notice that faggot shit come from rappers and trappers //
that wanna be the rappers //”
This person spit homophobic hip-hop surrounded by 16 bars of nonsense filler words.
This is a rapper with nothing to say on this song. I don’t have the full album and I don’t know what his full album content is like, but this is a bad lyrical performance on this song.
LYRICIST #2:
This rapper presents a fun, up-beat, clever presentation of lyrics. The content is him boasting of himself and half-way crook ways, but the ideas are delivered so clearly and cleverly you want to finish his short stint.
