John Legend & The Roots Video Premiere “Wake Up Everybody”

John Legend & The Roots introduce “Wake Up Everybody”, the debut music video from their forthcoming album WAKE UP!, premieres exclusively on the iTunes Store today. The “Do The Right Thing” inspired video features Grammy Award winning rapper Common and R&B Singer/ Songwriter Melanie Fiona along with John Legend and The Roots. The video was shot in Brooklyn and directed by Gil Green (Lil Wayne “Lollipop”, Rick Ross “Magnificent”). The pre-order for WAKE UP! is available now on the iTunes Store and includes an exclusive live in-studio version of “Compared to What”.

    Good to see all these colabos in support of cosnciousness. The video was really chill, but still drew some pertinant parallels and I am glad to see that cats are still holdin it down durning the struggle.

    I do not like the song as much as I like the idea and message of it. The soul is pretty silky; not me cup of tea. I always preferred funk to soul.
