Look at N.E.R.D., Look at Kesha!
Once upon a time No one Ever Really Dies (N.E.R.D.) was born and after 3 albums released and one soon to be released plus a side dish of The Neptunes was conjoined they have made well over a millions of fans globally. Their style and sound are distinctively unique and well recognized worldwide. So one day I came upon the new music video “Hot-n-Fun” by N.E.R.D. and was as excited as a kid in a candy shop. I have to say, personally it reminded me too much of Kesha’s “Your Love is My Drug” music video. It wasn’t the concept that turned me off, an Indian (Native American)/Hippie themed party in the desert, but the fact that it reminded me of the singer Kesha. Is she even labeled as a singer, either way the video was too similar to Kesha’s. Cartoony, desert, careless just having fun kind of video. Also was Nelly Furtado playing the role of God and the Devil? Well Kesha had that one guy looking like Jesus, am I right? I was disappointed with the video to be really honest, but the song was everything I expected from N.E.R.D. original and humorous. “Look at you, look at me” Purely my opinion though.
