The entrance to Sol Collective is filled with music junkies waiting for the beats to hit from their favorite local artists. While walking up to the collective I see some fresh faces to the scene to those that have been on Sacramento music’s scene for quite sometime. The lights have just dimmed to welcome in the crew that stands outside when Cawzlos grabs our attention by busting a freestyle to one of Styles’ 1001 beats before introducing the first emcee. Nome Nomadd is due to hit the stage while the other artists stand in the crowd bobbin their heads to show the effects of how good beats can make old cats and the new class of hip hop mesh together. On the bill that evening were Nome, Izreal, B Mcoy, Soosh*E and Zoo with DJ Amp_One spinning cuts before the legendary TT Kodac Visuals shares his table talent with us.

This night is given to that of Sacramento’s local talent only. This is a true testament on how bills can be filled with talent from our very own city. This night’s dedication to bringing out emcee’s with superior rhyme tactics, charismatic stage presence and the hype that captures the crowd when the show takes place. This all age event has filled the floor of Sol Collective and gets me all to excited to see what will be in the works for the next show.

October 15^th at Sol Collective TheMashUp.netbrings you another Locals Only Showcase with some fly emcees:  NPire Da Great, Torrey T, Peta Parka and Bansky with DJ Vanglorious.

This ill track delivers a powerful message about doing the best you can with the cards you’re dealt in life, no matter how bad the hand. Offering an optimistic look for the future. When life gets rough just remember that the good life is just around the corner. I think we all can relate to that. Like Hopie says “I got to get a grasp, a grip, a sip!” Real spit! She reminds me of a filipina MC Lyte. She comes with the realness!
